The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has suspended the compulsory utilization of the National Identification Number (NIN) for the enrollment of possibility for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry until 2021.
The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed this during a preparation at the headquaters of the board in Bwari, Abuja. As indicated by him, the move was to give more opportunity to possibility to get their national ID numbers.
It was accumulated that the choice to suspend the utilization of NIN for 2020 UTME enrollment followed reactions from general society over the poor planning of the strategy and the trouble in getting the NIN by imminent applicants.
With this improvement, applicants would now be able to apply for the 2020 UTME/DE which is set to begin January 13, 2020 without NIN.
The date for the initiation of the JAMB assessment remains March 14, 2020.
